What an amazing experience! With our group of 8, we were able to coordinate a fixed course menu with some of the most delicious dishes, some of which paired perfectly with Bub and Grandma's bread from next door. The meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked. All of the dishes exceeded expectations especially the tartare, albacore, dressed lettuce, green chili stew, and peaches. All highly recommended. Also, do not miss the oysters and the dates in brown butter (maybe a favorite). For dessert, both the chocolate cake and sticky date pudding were amazing! Must haves. The sommelier wad fantastic and provided excellent suggestions, even some wines that were not on the menu. Everything was perfect, including the service. The experience at Dunsmoor very much lives up to the hype. Run, don't walk, and definitely don't skip this hidden gem in Glassell Park!
It was our first time visiting and we were simply blown away. We sat at the Chefs Counter so we could see the action. One of the people who made our visit incredibly special was Anessa who guided us with wine. She simply could not have been more genuine and lovely. The expo was also a treat to watch….the Chef was always around…coaching the team, saying hello to guests. There was ZERO stress in that kitchen. You can’t often say that. The food was ridiculously good. Oysters, Comte cheese, Swordfish, Simple Greens. Can’t wait to come back.
The decor and overall vibe at Dunsmoor feel rustic and relaxing, and the service is excellent. I found myself enjoying the smaller dishes more than the large entrées. The albacore and chicken liver are must-orders, with a savory-sweet balance elevated by aromatic herbs. The tuna toast and Wagyu tartare are also very good—high quality and exactly what you would hope for. Among the entrées, the pork chop is especially juicy and clearly shows real skill in preparation, though I wished the flavors were a bit more innovative. The cornbread looks beautiful, but it was a little too soaked in grease for my taste.
Dare I say this is the best restaurant in LA?! The hype is real, we could not have had a better anniversary dinner. We started off the feast with some deliciously buttery oysters that set the mood from the start. Then we went in on the Corn bread, which was lowkey the star of the night, a must order! And finally, the big hitter was that 32 Oz Ribeye, cooked perfectly and it comes with bone marrow and bread. Hands down the best steak in LA, it’s not even close. I can’t wait to return, just be warned reservations run steep so make them well in advance. See you soon !!
Probably the best meal we've had to date. Everything was absolutely divine. I made reservations as soon as OpenTable let me. You have to get on their notifications list and snag a spot as soon as possible. Pro tip: sit at the bar so you can watch all of the action! We ordered the chicken liver, cornbread, endive salad, ribeye and cabbage. We finished our meal with the date pudding. Everything was soooo good. I need to come back and try more of their menu items!
