Power House is where the real power is!!! Joe and Eric, the bartenders, were amazing!!! super friendly, welcoming, and kept the vibes going all night. They made everyone feel right at home. And Kwame pickles? Absolutely unmatched! They were hands down the best pickles I’ve eve had. I seriously couldn’t stop eating them Between the great service, awesome atmosphere, and those incredible pickles it was such a fun experience!
If you’re wandering down Hollywood Boulevard in search of a proper pint of Guinness, Powerhouse is the hidden gem you didn’t know you needed. Tucked away on the street, this small pub has an effortlessly cool vibe—raw, unpretentious, and full of character. We walked in looking for a beer and found ourselves staying for the atmosphere: gritty punk and garage music, live artists keeping the energy high, and a bartender, Kwame, who made us feel completely at home. He not only poured with care but also shared his own quirky touch—letting us enjoy his personal VHS movie collection that played in the background, adding to the pub’s unique character. It’s not flashy, but that’s the charm. Powerhouse is one of those rare spots where you feel like a local the moment you step inside. A little hidden, a little rough around the edges, but absolutely worth discovering. Don’t miss it.
I stayed in a hotel 2 blocks, wanted to spend an evening with live music and drinks. Got recommended by locals so visited Power House Bar. This particular night, we had live music from 9pm, the performer was Nealy. She was great, such an awesome voice. I had a few Modelo beers from tap, was refreshing. The prices were decent enough, just a tad higher than normal to cover the music, I guess. The decor of the place was very nice, just loved the ambiance and atmosphere. Left around 11pm, when it started to fill up. Overall a good exp and will def visit again if I am in LA and in need for a drink with music.
Visited due to random chat with an American couple in a bar near our house in UK. Mentioning our upcoming trip to LA the next week they told us about Tanner their son who works in a bar. Turned out to be 5 mins from our hotel. Couldn't not go. Entered and found Tanner working the door. He was pretty amazed to see us with a picture of his Dad! Spent a super fun hour there with drinks. Bartender exceptional fun and recommended drinks..after picklebacks things were even more fun. Tanner is amazing and recommended other bars to visit. Brilliant place, bit under the radar for usual Hollywood tourists. A new favourite spot.
Gonna say, Joe is the best bartender and conversationalist we have come across....Place is very cozy and inviting. We left California 6 yrs ago and back for a vacation and we for we have been here 2 nights in a row. Will definitely be back when we come back!
